A xerox is a photocopy, and a photocopy is your document printed onto paper. Printster does that from a file rather than from the sheet in your hand: upload a PDF or a scan, choose paper size, colour and binding, and the printouts are couriered to you. It is the right answer when the document is already digital, when the copy count is high, or when the job needs to come back bound rather than as a loose stack. It is the wrong answer when you need five pages in the next ten minutes — for that, a shop down the road will always beat a courier.

What this costs

A4 black-and-white printing is Rs 0.60 per page double-sided, or Rs 0.63 per page for a job of only a few pages. Single-sided A4 is Rs 0.85 per page. A5 is Rs 0.38 per page double-sided. Colour is Rs 3.36 per page double-sided. At 100 copies or more, A4 black-and-white falls to Rs 0.54 per page and colour to Rs 3.06 per page. Those are the rates the calculator charges — nothing is quoted separately.

Online rather than at a counter

A photocopy shop is faster when you are standing in front of it holding paper. Printster is better when the document is already digital, when the copy count is high enough that waiting at a counter is tedious, or when the job needs binding. The trade is convenience against immediacy: your printouts arrive in 4 to 10 working days rather than in ten minutes.

Copying from paper

If your original is on paper, scan or photograph it before uploading. Almost any phone scanner app produces a usable PDF — use document mode rather than a plain camera shot so the page is flattened and cropped. Scan at 300 DPI where the original has small print or fine detail.

Binding your copies

This is where an online order beats a counter. Corner staple is Rs 2, staple Rs 15, spiral Rs 40, wiro Rs 45, soft cover perfect binding Rs 110 and hard binding Rs 250. Choose the binding at the same time as the copies and the job comes back finished rather than as a loose stack.

Bulk photocopying for your city

Large copy jobs are where the difference shows. There is no maximum quantity, the 100-copy tier applies automatically, and the whole run is produced and dispatched together rather than fed through a counter machine. Study material, question papers, handbooks and training packs are the usual cases.

Colour or black and white

Black and white is right for text and for anything that was black and white to begin with, and it is five times cheaper per page. Choose colour only where the colour carries information — charts, maps, marked-up diagrams. A mixed document is priced as colour throughout, so split it into two jobs if only a few pages need colour.

Is this the same as a xerox shop near me?
It does the same job and delivers to you instead. There is no Printster counter outside our Delhi facility, so this is an online service: you upload the file and the printouts are couriered to your city in 4 to 10 working days. If you need copies within the hour, a local shop is the right answer.
Can I photocopy a book or a bound document?
Yes, if you have the right to copy it. Scan or photograph the pages into a PDF and upload that. Printster prints the file you send and does not check copyright on your behalf.
Can I pay cash on delivery in your city?
No. Cash on Delivery is not offered on any order. Payment is taken online by credit card, debit card, UPI or net banking before the job goes to print.
Is there a minimum order for xerox & photocopy in your city?
No. There is no minimum quantity and no minimum order value. A single copy is priced from the same rate card as a run of five hundred.
What file formats can I upload?
PDF is preferred because it preserves your layout exactly. DOCX, JPG and PNG are also accepted. Embed your fonts before exporting to PDF, and keep artwork at 300 DPI. For files over 100 MB, send a WeTransfer link to print@printster.in.
