The outline says 100 GSM bond paper should be used for the preparation of the thesis. That is a deliberate step up from ordinary document stock, and it is the specification most likely to be missed if you hand a PDF to a general print shop without saying anything. Heavier paper also changes the object: 100 GSM at 200 double-sided pages is noticeably thicker and heavier than the same thesis on 75 gsm, which affects both the spine and the courier weight. Specify 100 GSM in the order notes when you upload so it is set before production, and expect the quote to sit above the standard page rate.
300 gsm soft binding with navy blue lettering
The binding is specified as precisely as the paper: the thesis hard copy should be in A4 size format with 300 gsm white sheet soft binding, and the bound front cover should indicate in navy blue colour letter. This is soft binding on a heavy white cover board, not a cloth-bound hard case — a different object from what most universities ask for, and cheaper. Printed on both sides, on executive bond
The outline says the thesis document is to be printed on both sides of the executive bond paper. Double sided on 100 GSM is a genuinely good combination — heavy stock is what stops show-through, which is the usual reason double-sided printing looks poor on lighter paper. Check your PDF is not already imposed with blank versos before you upload, and set mirrored margins so the 1.5 inch left margin falls on the binding edge of every sheet rather than alternating to the outer edge on versos.
Bookman Old Style at 12, and the 1.5 inch inner margin
The typography is named rather than left open: 12-point Bookman Old Style, with 1.5 line spacing throughout the dissertation, and fresh paragraphs commencing after five spaces. Bookman Old Style is a wider face than Times New Roman, so a thesis reflowed into it will run longer than the same text in Times — check your page count after you switch, not before. The layout gives margins of 1.5 inch on the left and 1 inch on the top, bottom and right. Footnotes and references drop to font size 9, with references at single line spacing.
Five copies, and delivery across Telangana
JNTUH asks for five copies of the thesis and one synopsis, submitted to the Director, R&D along with the panel of examiners in hard and soft copy under sealed cover, signed by the supervisor and co-supervisor. Five copies on 100 GSM stock is a substantial parcel, so order it as one job.
