IIT Roorkee's specification splits the job: spiral now, hard bound after the viva

The specification we hold for IIT Roorkee, published at iitr.ac.in and checked on 2026-08-31, asks for two objects: “spiral bound at the time of initial submission”, then “after the viva-voce examination the thesis must be submitted hard bound”. The second is “hard-bound in card sheet paper of 18.6 kg weight (size 22 cm x 29 cm) in green”, with name, enrollment number and year “printed in gold on the bound edge”.

The golden-print grades are hard-bound variants priced in place of that ₹250, not added to it — ₹275 on the front, ₹350 on front and spine. Both Roorkee tables lean hard bound: 13.0 and 13.5 times the national share
