Anna University's PhD regulation asks for three copies, side pinned or stitched, in a cover printed on 300 gsm white art card, gloss laminated outside and adhesive bound. SRM Institute of Science and Technology asks for two different objects. Its six evaluation copies are sewn into a flexible cover of thick white art paper. The copy handed in after the viva-voce is sewn and hard bound in dark brown soft rexin; the spine carries golden lettering — degree, candidate's name, year. Our IIT Madras record is narrower. The paper is A4 bond, un-ruled, 80 gsm, printed both sides from the acknowledgements onward. Margins run 31.7 mm left and right, 25.4 mm top, 17.0 mm bottom, with page numbers 17.0 mm above the bottom edge. On binding, cover colour and spine that record is blank, so this page will not say how such a thesis is bound.

What the card charges for a bound copy, and what no spec here names
