Converting an e-book to print
PDF prints directly. EPUB and MOBI do not — convert to PDF first, using Calibre or the reader's own export, and check the result before uploading. Watch the page size: many e-book exports come out at a reader-screen dimension rather than A4 or A5, which prints smaller than expected.
Choosing the page size
A5 is the natural size for a novel or a read-through book and costs Rs 0.38 per page double-sided, or Rs 0.34 per page on 100 copies or more. A4 suits technical books, manuals and anything with diagrams or code, at Rs 0.60 per page double-sided.
Binding a printed e-book
Soft cover perfect binding at Rs 110 gives the closest thing to a shop-bought paperback. Spiral at Rs 40 is right for a book you will work in rather than read through. Hard binding at Rs 250 is for something meant to last on a shelf.
Colour or black and white
Most e-books are text and print perfectly in black and white at Rs 0.60 per A4 page double-sided. If the book carries colour diagrams or photographs that matter, colour is Rs 3.36 per page double-sided. Mixed jobs are priced as colour throughout, so consider whether the colour pages earn it.
